Your privacy choices
Withdrawing is meant to be exactly as easy as agreeing. These are the switches behind the cookie banner, whether it asked you to choose or told you what was on. Changing them takes effect immediately, and nothing about the site works differently either way.
Sign-in, security and your theme choice. The site cannot work without these, so they are always on and are not used for tracking.
Which pages people visit and where they arrive from, so we know what to improve. Aggregate only — never used to target you. Before you choose, Google's tag runs without cookies and sends only that a page was viewed, from which country, and that you have not yet decided; accepting lets it set its own cookies so it can count you once rather than on every page.
Google Analytics
Remembers that you arrived from an ad, so that if you later send a message, sign up or pay we can tell the ad network it worked — using a scrambled version of your email address (and, for LinkedIn and Reddit, your IP address), never your name or anything in your account. With this on, Google Ads, LinkedIn and Reddit may also set their own cookies on our public pages and show CloseRev ads to people who visited; LinkedIn's and Reddit's tags load only while it is on. Switch it off and no advertising cookie is set, no audience is built, and nothing about you is reported to any of them. This is the only category that shares data with other companies. None of it runs on a signed-in page, except the confirmation shown right after you confirm your email or pay, where Google's tag reports that one event.
Google Ads, LinkedIn and Reddit
What else you can ask for
- Marketing email — turn it on or off in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any message.
- A copy of your data — export it yourself from Settings.
- Deletion — close your account from Settings, or email us and we'll do it.
- Anything else — privacy@closerev.com. We don't require an account to answer a rights request.
