„NexHealth already reports bookings by source.“
It does, and most of those bookings are existing patients. The split is where this starts.
Für NexHealth
Use NexHealth bookings as your lead file, match them against collected production, and separate the patients you acquired from the ones who rebooked.

NexHealth sits on the lead side in CloseRev: its online booking records carry the patient's contact detail, the date and where the booking came from, which makes them a usable lead file. Matched against collected production from the practice management system, they answer which channels produced new patients rather than which produced bookings — a distinction the booking layer itself cannot make. Production with no traceable booking is reported as Direct / Unknown.

Die Lücke
Online booking volume looks like marketing performance and most of it is convenience for existing patients.
Captured at booking. Online booking produces unusually complete contact details, which makes this a strong lead file.
Where the booking originated — the practice website, a map listing, a directory. This becomes the channel label.
When the appointment was made, not when it was attended. The gap matters for cancellations.
The single most important optional column on this page, because it is the distinction the whole report turns on.
Schritt für Schritt
Geschrieben für alle, die NexHealth im Nachbar-Tab geöffnet haben. Berichtsnamen unterscheiden sich je nach Edition, deshalb sagt jeder Schritt, wonach Sie suchen.
One row per booking with a contact detail, the source and the date.
Use the flag where it exists; otherwise a patient's first appearance in a long file is the acquisition and the rest are not.
From the practice management system: patient contact detail, amount collected, date.
Long enough for treatment that needed planning to have been completed and paid for.
The join runs on the phone and the email, normalised, with acquisition and rebooking reported apart.
Was zurückkommt
A practice that adds online booking sees a large jump in bookings made outside office hours, and most of those are existing patients who would have telephoned.
That is a genuine operational win — fewer calls, fewer missed bookings — and it is not a marketing result, however it looks on a dashboard.
Counting all online bookings as a channel therefore credits the booking widget with a large share of the practice's revenue.
Splitting new from returning is the first thing this report does, and for most practices it removes the majority of the volume before any ranking begins.
What remains is small, real, and finally comparable with the paid channels.
Where a booking records that it came from a map listing or the practice website, that is genuinely useful, and it is also the last step rather than the cause.
Somebody who saw an advert, searched the practice by name and booked from the website will be recorded as a website booking.
The report uses the referrer as one source among several and keeps the paid lead files beside it, so the overlap between them is visible rather than resolved.
Where a patient appears in both an advertising lead file and a website booking, the report shows both rather than silently awarding the cheaper one.
That restraint is what stops the widget quietly absorbing credit for everything upstream of it.
Online bookings cancel and no-show at a different rate from telephone bookings, because making one costs the patient less commitment.
Ranking channels on bookings therefore favours the sources that make booking easiest rather than the ones producing patients who attend.
Matching to collected production removes the problem entirely: revenue only exists where somebody turned up and paid.
The gap between bookings and collections per source is worth reporting on its own, because it is often an operations finding about reminders rather than a marketing one.
A new patient's first appointment is an examination, and the significant production frequently follows weeks or months later once treatment is agreed.
A short window measures the examination, which is nearly the same for every channel, and misses the part where channels differ.
A year of collections matched back to the acquisition booking gives the number that actually distinguishes them.
It also shows which channels produce patients who accept treatment, which is a far better predictor of a practice's year than new-patient counts.
Acceptance is where the money is decided, and it varies by how the patient arrived. Somebody who booked at midnight from a map listing because a tooth hurt is a different proposition from somebody who chose the practice after a recommendation, and the ledger is the only place that difference becomes a number.
Berechtigte Fragen
It does, and most of those bookings are existing patients. The split is where this starts.
It is the last click before the booking. The report keeps paid lead files beside it so the overlap is visible.
They favour whichever source makes booking easiest, which is not the same as producing patients who attend and pay.
No. It reads an exported file, so your scheduling, forms and patient records stay where they are.
The lead side. Collected production from the practice management system is the other half.
Bookings with a contact detail, the source and the date, plus collected production with amounts and dates.
Use the new-or-returning flag where it exists; otherwise a patient's first appearance in a long file is the acquisition.
It is the last step rather than the cause. The report keeps paid lead files beside it and shows the overlap.
Yes. Online bookings cancel at a different rate, and matching to collections removes the problem because revenue requires attendance.
A year, because significant treatment follows the first examination by weeks or months.
Yes, and the report shows both rather than awarding the cheaper one.
Yes, where the export carries one.
Any production with no traceable booking or lead, usually telephone bookings without call tracking.
A contact detail, a source and a date on one side; a contact detail, an amount and a date on the other. No clinical records, no forms, no insurance details. Encrypted in transit and at rest and deleted with the import.
Collected production per source for acquired patients only, rebooking reported separately, and everything unmatched kept visible.
